Serena Williams captured her first tournament title since returning with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Marion Bartoli in the Bank of the West Classic.

In the doubles final, No.2 seeds Victoria Azarenka and Maria Kirilenko beat No.1 seeds Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond, 61 63. They have three titles together, all Premiers.

Petrova beats Peer to win Citi Open

Second-seeded Nadia Petrova of Russia beat top-seeded Shahar Peer 7-5, 6-2 to win the inaugural Citi Open

No.1 seeds Sania Mirza and Yaroslava Shvedova defeated No.2 seeds Olga Govortsova and Alla Kudryavtseva, 63 63. This is their first title together.

First Grand Slam doubles title for Dulko and Pennetta

The top-ranked team of Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta rallied from a set and 4-1 down to beat Victoria Azarenka and Maria Kirilenko 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 for the Australian Open women’s doubles title.

Azarenka, Troicki win Kremlin Cup titles

Victoria Azarenka of Belarus beat Maria Kirilenko of Russia 6-3, 6-4 in the Kremlin Cup final, this is her fifth career title.

Doubles No. 1 seeds Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta, won their sixth title of the year beating No. 3 seeds Sara Errani and María José Martínez Sánchez, 6-3, 2-6, 10-6.


Victor Troicki of Serbia claimed his first title, beating Marcos Baghdatis 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Igor Kunitsyn and Dmitri Tursunov from Russia beat Victor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevich 7-6(7), 6-3 to win the doubles event of Kremlin Cup.

Clijsters wins Western & Southern Financial Group Women’s Open

"I thought I was hitting well from the baseline with her but my serve wasn't working well. During the delay I had to regroup and refocus, and when we came back to the court I played aggressively and turned it around. I'm really happy to win."

Kim Clijsters overcame three match points on the way to her 2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory againts Maria Sharapova.

"We had to come up with different things. If we played the same way, they would have adapted and taken advantage of it," Azarenka said.

Kuznetsova wins the Mercury Insurance Open

Svetlana Kuznetsova overcame mid-match nerves to win against Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4 6-7 6-3 for the Mercury Insurance Open presented by Tri-Medical Center title.

“I think I did choke for the very first time in my life,” Kuznetsova said. “I never had this choke before. I don’t know why it happened. Here I couldn’t make a ball.”

“After a match like this, it’s always disappointing when it’s a long, very tough match,” Radwanska said. “I think it’s much easier to lose 6-1, 6-1 and have no chance. But if it’s a match like this, it hurts.”

No.4 seeds Maria Kirilenko and Zheng Jie upsets No.2 seeds Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs in the final of Mercury Insurance Open, 64 64.

Zheng, Henin into semis

China’s Zheng Jie has advanced to her second Grand Slam semifinal, beating Maria Kirilenko of Russia 6-1, 6-3 at the Australian Open. Zheng will meet Justine Henin of Belgium in the semifinals.
