Zvonareva wins Baku Cup title

World No.3 Vera Zvonareva won her second WTA title of the year and the 12th of her career, beating Ksenia Pervak 6-1, 6-4 in an all-Russian final at the Baku Cup.

In the doubles final, No.2 seeds Mariya Koryttseva and Tatiana Poutchek beat No.1 seeds Monica Niculescu and Galina Voskoboeva, 6-3, 2-6, 10-8, missing four match points in a row from 9-4 up in the match tie-break before finally closing it out.

 Fish wins second straight year at the Atlanta Tennis 

Mardy Fish beat John Isner in the final for the second straight year at the Atlanta Tennis Championships, earning a 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2 victory.

Matthew Ebden of Australia won his second straight doubles title, teaming this week with Alex Bogomolov Jr., in a 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 super-tiebreaker victory over Matthias Bachinger and Frank Moser of Germany.

Simon beats Almagro in International German Open

Gilles Simon beat Nicolas Almagro of Spain 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 for his second title of the year at International German Open

In the doubles Third seeds Oliver Marach and Alexander Peya captured their first ATP defeated fourth seeds Frantisek Cermak and Filip Polasek 6-4, 6-1.

Alisa Kleybanova treated for Hodgkin’s lymphoma

 

Alisa Kleybanova is receiving treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Italy, a form of cancer.

5th Palermo title for Madina Garrigues, Martinez Sanchez wins Gastein ladies title

5th title for Madina Garrigues at Internazionali Femminili di Tennis de Palermo

Anabel Medina Garrigues defeated Polona Hercog of Slovenia 6-3, 6-2 to win the Palermo Open for the fifth time (2001, 2004 to 2006, and 2011). She now holds the record for most clay-court titles (10th) among active players.

 

Italians Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci won their fifth WTA doubles title together, beating Czech pairing Andrea Hlavackova and Klara Zakopalova 7-5, 6-1.

Martinez Sanchez wins NURNBERGER Gastein ladies title

Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez defeated Austrian wild card Patricia Mayr-Archleitner 6-0, 7-5 in the final of the Gastein Ladies to win her fourth career title.

In the doubles, Eva Birnerova and Lucie Hradecka came back from set down to defeat Julia Goerges and Jarmila Gajdosova 4-6, 6-2, 12-10.

Ferrero wins Mercedes Cup title

Juan Carlos Ferrero defeated Pablo Andujar 6-4, 6-0 in an all-Spanish final of the Mercedes Cup to secure his 16th career title.

No. 2 seeds Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner defeated third-seeded Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez 6-3, 6-4 to notch their second title of the year.

Soderling wins SkiStar Swedish Open

Robin Soderling beat David Ferrer of Spain 6-2, 6-2 to win the Swedish Open for the second time in three years.

Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau defeated Simon Aspelin and Andreas Siljestrom 6-3, 6-3 to retain their SkiStar Swedish Open title.

Top-seeded Roberta Vinci of Italy won her third WTA title of the year by beating Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 in the final of the GDF SUEZ Grand Prix. Barcelona, 's-Hertogenbosch and now Budapest.

In the doubles final, No.1 seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues and Alicja Rosolska beat No.2 seeds Natalie Grandin and Vladimira Uhlirova 6-2, 62.

Isner wins Newport title

American John Isner captured his second career in the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championship beating Belgium’s Olivier Rochus 6-3 7-6.

The first-time duo of Matthew Ebden and Ryan Harrison rallied past fourth seeds Johan Brunstrom and Adil Shamasdin 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 to clinch the title at the Campbell’s Hall Of Fame Tennis Championships.

Hercog claim first singles title

Slovenia’s Polona Hercog beat Johanna Larsson of Sweden 6-4, 7-5 to win the Collector Swedish Open Women and claim her first singles title.

Lourdes Domínguez Lino and María José Martínez Sánchez won the doubles title with a 6-3, 6-3 win in an all-Spanish final over No.3 seeds Nuria Llagostera Vives and Arantxa Parra Santonja.

Novak Djokovic dominates defending champion Rafael Nadal, winning 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 for his first title at the exclusive Englad Club and third grand slam. By becoming a finalist he is already a world no. 1 and it's becomes formal when the ranking release on Monday.

Kvitova breaks through

The only Top 10 seed in the Open Era never to win a major, but not anymore No. 8 Petra Kvitova used a fast-paced and well-placed forehand to keep Sharapova on the run. The winner comes from her first ace of the match and that was it she becomes a new Wimbledon Champions of 2011.

Benesova and Melzer wins mixed doubles final

Another Czech Republic winners Iveta Benesova and Jurgen Melzer of Austria won the mixed doubles final beating Elena Vesnina of Russia and Mahesh Bhupathi of India 6-3, 6-2.

Luke Saville defeated Liam Broady for the boys single.

 From set down to champions

Second seeds Eugenie Bouchard and Grace Min staged saved two match points in the third sets against unseeded pairing Demi Schuurs and Hao Chen Tang to win the girls doubles 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.

George Morgan and partner Mate Pavic fought back from a set down to triumph over the top seeds Oliver Golding and Jiri Vesely 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.
