Dulgheru wins Warsaw Open in WTA Tour debut, beats Bodarenko

Alexandra Dulgheru, a Romanian qualifier ranked No. 201, won the Warsaw Open on Saturday in her WTA Tour debut by beating Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine 76(3) 36 60, in two hours and 52 minutes – the exact time it took her to beat Wienerova in the first round of qualifying.

“I didn’t expect to win. I don’t know what happened that I was playing so well,” Dulgheru said.

In the doubles, Raquel Kops-Jones and Bethanie Mattek-Sands lifted the trophy, beating two-time Slam winners Yan Zi and Zheng Jie in the final, 61 61.
