Russia’s Dinara Safina has made her second Grand Slam final after ousting compatriot Vera Zvonareva 6-3 7-6(4) in the semifinals of Australian Open 2009 on Thursday.
Safina, the 2008 French Open finalist, took out Thursday’s semifinal in 105 minutes.

Safina progressed despite making 42 unforced errors, 27 in the final set alone, to Zvonareva’s 19 for the entire match

Zvonareva converted on three of her nine break point chances, while Safina capitalised on five of her 11 break point opportunities
Safina won seven of eight points when she approached the net
